Our Approach
Our process of “Explore. Design. Sustain.” guides our work. Through it, we help leaders build confidence that they are tending to the needs of their stakeholders, solving for the right issues, and building programs that will last.
Explore.
Too often, there’s a tendency in education to jump into solving mode without being sure of the actual problem. We believe developing successful solutions begins with inquiry. Through asking, listening, and observing, we work to answer, “How do you know?'‘ before we design.
Design.
As we help school communities, we take what we’ve learned through exploration to collaboratively generate, test, and refine ideas with the people we serve.
We constantly look for ways to involve stakeholders in the process. We don’t believe people should have to “buy in" or “get on board” with someone else’s solution, as that implies that the ship is built, the course is set, and stakeholders need to just buy tickets for the ride. Rather, our design philosophy includes involving stakeholders throughout the process, so they have a voice and a personal investment in programatic success.
Sustain.
To build sustainability within complex systems, shared expectations need to be limited, transparent, enforceable, and consistent. We aid leaders with prioritizing, developing communication structures, building success metrics, training and professional learning, and curating legacy information.
